Tetley Auto Detailing is committed to providing the highest quality mobile detailing service. We appreciate your interest in our services and would like to outline the terms and conditions that govern our business operations. By booking any service with Tetley Auto Detailing, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Service Requirements
As a mobile service, we require the following:
- Adequate space to perform our services safely and efficiently.
- Permission to be on the premises if you are not the property owner.
- A safe location and conditions to complete the service.
If these conditions are not met upon arrival, we reserve the right to reschedule at a mutually convenient time.
If the service is conducted at your home, please ensure all necessary vehicle movements are made beforehand to avoid disruption.
If you have booked an appointment at our location, please note it is a private garage, not a commercial detailing shop. There is no waiting area, so customers must arrange for vehicle drop-off. Please provide sufficient notice to coordinate the drop-off time.
Liability
Tetley Auto Detailing is not responsible for any pre-existing damage to the vehicle, including but not limited to scratches, dents, or mechanical issues. While we exercise utmost care, customers must disclose any known issues with their vehicle.
Deposit and Payment Policy
- A 20% deposit is required upon booking to secure your appointment. This will be deducted from the total service cost.
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in the deposit being non-refundable and not applicable to rescheduled appointments.
- Cancellations between 24-48 hours’ notice allow the deposit to be applied to a rescheduled appointment but remain non-refundable.
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance are fully refundable or transferable to a rescheduled appointment.
- The remaining balance is due on the day of service. If the customer is not present, payment may be left in cash or cheque, or an invoice will be sent via email, which must be paid in full the same day. Failure to do so will result in a 10% late charge accrued each week until payment is received.
Tetley Auto Detailing reserves the right to adjust booking times due to weather, equipment issues, or unforeseen circumstances, with any changes communicated promptly.
Service Terms
- Our estimated time of arrival may vary due to weather, traffic, or other unexpected delays.
- Customers will be contacted the day before the appointment for confirmation and provided with an estimated time of arrival.
- On the day of the appointment, customers will be notified if we are ahead of or behind schedule.
- Customers must remove all personal belongings, valuables, and significant items before detailing. If compartments such as the centre console or glove box contain items, they will not be cleaned.
- For child safety reasons, we do not remove or reinstall car seats. If a car seat is left in the vehicle, we will clean around it as best as possible but cannot guarantee complete satisfaction.
- We reserve the right to adjust pricing based on vehicle condition, type, and location.
- Prices may be amended during detailing if additional work is required beyond the initial quotation.
- A minimum 10% surcharge applies to excessive pet hair, bodily fluids (urine, vomit, blood, faeces), or other hazardous materials.
- Pet hair and sand removal are not guaranteed, though we make every effort to achieve optimal results.
- Stain and odour removal is not guaranteed, as some materials may be permanently affected. We will consult you on potential outcomes before proceeding.
- Windows may develop a slight film depending on temperature conditions. If streaks are present after service, use a microfiber cloth to wipe them away after the vehicle has cooled.
- We are not responsible for damage to fragile or pre-damaged interior components, including buttons and knobs that may lose markings due to dirt or grime buildup.
- The headliner will be cleaned carefully, but some stains may remain. Excessive cleaning may compromise adhesives, leading to sagging over time.
- We use only safe, non-harmful cleaning products on all surfaces, including carpets, leather, vinyl, plastic, and paint.
- We are not responsible for baked-on brake dust that cannot be removed completely and recommend professional refurbishment if necessary.
- Bird droppings, bug splatter, sap, and tar may cause permanent damage to paintwork if left untreated. While we attempt removal, some marks may remain without compromising the vehicle’s clear coat.
- Some exterior plastic or rubber trim may be beyond restoration and may require replacement rather than treatment.
- Wax, sealants, and coatings must be properly maintained to achieve their full durability. Regular hand washing is recommended.
Conduct and Safety
- We treat all customers with professionalism and respect and expect the same in return.
- We reserve the right to refuse service if a customer exhibits unreasonable behaviour.
- Any form of verbal or physical abuse will result in immediate service termination and further action if necessary.
- Customers should maintain a safe distance of 2-4 metres from our work area to avoid slip or trip hazards.
- If you need to speak with us while we are working, please get our attention from a safe distance.
Ceramic Coating Maintenance
- If a ceramic coating has been applied to your vehicle’s paint, trim, wheels, or glass, Tetley Auto Detailing is not responsible for premature coating failure if you opt out of our maintenance programme.
- We recommend professional maintenance every three months to ensure durability for 1-2 years.
- A full detail is recommended at least once per year to maintain your vehicle’s appearance and protect its condition.

Tetley Auto Detailing reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of any changes, and continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
